About Paige Herman-Axel

Although I’ve been writing about beauty for 15 years, I’ve been playing with products for more than three decades—and there will always be a special place in my heart for my first Caboodle. Just being in the right place at the right time in 1998 gave me the opportunity to turn my passion for lotions and potions into a career, and I haven’t looked back since. I started in the magazine world, making pit stops at Ocean Drive, New York magazine, Gotham, Hamptons, and NewBeauty (and a few others) along the way. Then in 2008, I decided to go out on my own as a freelance writer, and started my company, FirstPaige, Inc. Clients like magazines, skincare companies, doctors and websites came calling—and they still do. Yearning for a platform where I could share my personal product and treatment experience with the world, I started InsiderBeautyBuzz in 2010. My daily beauty blog spans the spectrum from skincare and makeup to hair and body products (and beyond)—and thanks to loyal readers and ever-increasing traffic I’ve become a go-to source for all things beauty. Then, in early 2013 I launched Bronze Buffer, which has allowed me to see the beauty world from another perspective. As the creator of this one-of-a-kind self-tan remover, I now know first hand what it takes to get a product to market—and make it a success (and I have countless magazine features and blog reviews as proof). I still play with products each and every day, and I make an effort to stay on top of the latest trends and issues in the beauty world, which brings me to the Gluten-Free Resource Directory. Here, I’ll share the most effective products for every skin concern, the hottest makeup colors, and answer burning beauty questions—all while helping you live a healthy, happy and gorgeous gluten-free lifestyle.

  • Peggy Schulz: Hello, I am trying to find a doctor or dermatologist in Oregon (preferably Medford area) that specializes in DH/Celiac. After going to 5 docs over a couple years, all think I have eczema and even athlete foot or food allergy, spent over $3000 out of pocket for allergy tests etc., I figured out what I have via google! Oh did I tell you I always told my doctors I have celiac. And I always said I have a feeling it an internal issue, not an allergy. And always told them the itch is not normal, it itches to the bone! Not one ever mentioned DH! Apparently I am getting cross contamination, so now staying home for every meal, not eating out, even at friends homes. I would sure like a doctor who 'get's it'! Thank you for this site! View Post
